Vintage Nancy Ann 1930's JAPAN Rarity "LITTLE GIRL" #6 or Early #80 - MUST SEE!!

Up for auction is a truly RARE Nancy Ann Storybook Doll from 1936-37.  She is marked "MADE/IN/JAPAN/1146" and measures about 4 7/8" tall.  According to the book by Elaine Pardee and Jackie Robertson "Encyclopedia of Bisque Nancy Ann Storybook Dolls 1936-1947" this doll is a character that was never listed in factory pamphlets and is rare, with few examples found. She is almost identical to "Little Girl" #6 except for the ties on the bonnet. The authors also say that the other possibility is that she could be a #80 Margie Ann, but again there are not enough examples to tell.  There is a picture and description on p. 27 of the Pardee/Robertson book, and I've included a picture for you to see. This doll, that we were fortunate to find, is in good condition except for the right leg. Her leg has paint loss and the previous owner must have tried to paint it as there is some paint residue. There is also a little paint loss on her fingers and hands, but no chips or cracks. Her arms were hanging loose from age, so I did carefully restring the arms only. The little dress is in good vintage condition with no holes or stains. The panties are correct and in good condition. The ribbon on the bonnet has shredded a little, but can still be tied in a bow.  The face is beautiful, with no retouches.  She is also unusual because she has the painted hair with topknot, and no wig.  All in all a wonderful find. Wow!  What a special rare little girl to add to your collection!
