Delightful, 5 inch tall,
early issue, incised
: Story Book Doll USA 11, jointed all bisque,
"Colonial Dame"
doll with short arms, and
molded socks,
original, thick wavy, dark brown curly hair. From their 1940, "
American Girl
" series, listed as
model #56

as she is in perfect condition with gorgeous coloring, lovely molded and painted features, short arms and wearing all her original clothing (with orig. pins) which have never been removed. She wears a very full,
pink flower-printed, cotton dress
from the
1607-1776
colonial period
of the United States
(with no fading ) beneath
a
French blue overdress with short, blue lace trimmed sleeves
over a long petticoat and long pantalets (no lace mob cap, not sure if she should have one as stated on page 57). She also has painted black slippers (few tiny
inside
paint nicks) with
molded
ribbed (unpainted) socks
. She has no lifting paint, no chips or nicks, no cracks or hairlines and no repairs. She also has no stains or odors (slight fading to blue overdress as shown) as she is from a smoke free home.
