    Elegant Modernist Classical Themed Glass Bowl with Dolphin Motif by Tiffany & Co.

    This charming and delightful glass bowl was realized by the renowned American design house, Tiffany & Co., circa 1980. It features stylized renditions of dolphins, in raised glass, riding the crests of waves on the upper portion of the bowl. While clearly identifiable as dolphins, their repeated forms appear on the verge of reading as an abstract decorative motif. The top of the bowl is scalloped with forms suggesting miniature wave crests, a theme that is echoed in the pattern that circumscribes the base of the bowl. This is a really compelling example of modernist design by Tiffany & Co. It would be equally well suited as a functional bowl for presenting hors d'oeuvres, such as olives or cherries, or as an objet d'art atop an occasional table or étagère. It is inscribed Tiffany & Co. on bottom. Excellent condition.
